Genre/Adventure (105 words)

“Come on Jen! We need to keep climbing!”

“I can’t Mike. There’s too many steps,  I just can’t do it!”

“I won’t let you give up! Now get your ass moving!”  Grabbing Jen,  Mike pulled her up the stairs. The loud clumping of boots  below  pushed them even faster.

Upward they went. Breathing hard, hearts pounding.  Reaching the top they ran to the railing, the trees were tiny from such a distance. Climbing up,  they held hands and jumped as the boots behind them reached the last step.

The soldiers looked over the railing and saw the parachutes as they gracefully dropped them to safety.

Good fun here. Liked the hurried rush up followed by the floating down…Nice movement in this piece. An enjoyable 100 word adventure.

  3. Ah, base jumping. A good way to get away, although parachutes are rather trackable! There are a lot of people escaping up these stairs, I’m glad yours had an exit plan for when they reached the top
